Matt's Story...
Matt is a 5-6 year old sable and white male who is the clown of the Cocker Inn. He LOVES to play ball and will chase it for as long as you are willing to throw it. This precious guy entered our rescue program after his owners wound up incarcerated being left behind. Without proper care, poor Matt was missing so much hair that we couldn't even tell what color he was supposed to be. But with a little love and some good nutrition, his coat is absolutely gorgeous. He loves treats and squeaky toys and will entertain you with his silly antics. He appears to be house trained and knows how to sit and shake. This chipper little guy loves everyone and would be tickled pink to find a family to love and play with him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Matt, a Houston Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Houston, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
