Jim Bob's Story...
Imagine the relief for this 6 month old B&T mix when he was rescued in the nick of time from a high kill shelter. Although a bit timid, it takes only a few minutes for this boy to perk up and start acting like a puppy should, with his tail wagging and offering up puppy kisses to his humans. Jim Bob's temporary foster mom says he is a very quick learner and requires very little correction. In less than 48 hours Jim Bob went from being terrified of a leash and doing what his foster mom calls the "crocodile death roll", to walking calmly, loose leashed, with very little pulling. Jim Bob is in good weight at 42lbs, neutered, UTD on shots and would do well with doggy playmates to help teach him just how good life really can be.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jim Bob, a Sacramento area Black and Tan Coonhound puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Black and Tan Coonhound for sale in Sacramento area, or seeking a Black and Tan Coonhound puppy from a breeder in Sacramento area.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sacramento area already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sacramento area breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Black and Tan Coonhound breeders who help with Black and Tan Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sacramento area paves the way for another one to be saved.
