My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Take a look at me now and just wait till my hair grows in; I'll be as handsome as ever. Gus is about 6 years old (or could be a tad older) but never to old to learn the life of love and attention that any family dog is deserving. He would love a home where he can learn that it's ok to be inside, pets and hugs are given constantly and sleeping in the room with the family is normal..you don't have to sleep in another room by yourself. Gus gets along well with dogs of any size, despite his size (87 lbs) he's very timid and shy. Sudden movements and loud noises frighten him so living with a confident dog would be best for acclimating him to his new home.

Gus is learning to play with toys, he's learned that a doggy bed is comforting and he's mastered the outside stair but refuses to go up or down any set of stairs inside a house (despite the coaxing from his foster sisters who are teaching him to roll around in the grass and doggy play). Gus walks great on a leash and is slowly learning that car rides are a good thing, but gentle coaxing is sometimes needed to get him into a car (other times he jumps right in). He's good with free roam of the house for 4 hours and will usually tell you when he wants to go out. Gus's previous home probably prohibited him from entering the kitchen so despite the fact that the other dogs eat in another tiled area, he would prefer to eat away from a kitchen....needless to say he isn't a counter surfer. Who can resist this handsome boy and with attention, exposure to a dog oriented family he'll be a great companion that has bloomed to his Golden reputation. A great dog!

Gus is currently on medical hold.
