Nickleby's Story...
This handsome three year old, 66 lb. shepherd mix has been patiently waiting for a home that won't discard him. Nickleby was rescued in the nick of time from a NC kill shelter on what was suppose to be his last day of life. Turned in by a woman because she had lost interest in having a dog and had neglected to take him to the vet. Due to the stress and malnutrition, he had lost much of his hair. Now in rescue, Nickleby's hair has grown back and he is such a handsome fellow! He is in good health and gets along great with his doggie playgroup on about 20 dogs. He is eager to please and gravitates to new folks as if asking, "Are YOU going to be the one to take me home?" Please consider giving this good-natured boy the home he has been waiting for

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nickleby, a Southampton Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Southampton, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Southampton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Southampton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Southampton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Southampton paves the way for another one to be saved.
