My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sweet Betty.

Betty is a soft, sweet, loving young full-breed Jack Russell Terrier female. She loves to cuddle and will make a wonderful companion for someone with a big heart who is looking for a special life-long friend.

Betty has a deformed left rear leg which turns back and is locked into position. The vet who spayed her thinks it is a birth defect. It doesn’t slow Betty down much and doesn’t seem to bother her a bit.

We saved her from certain death at a Western North Carolina shelter with the help of some kind friends in that area. She rode calmly and comfortably in the front seat from Hickory to Raleigh. When she got to her foster home, she lay next to Foster Dad, put her head on his chest, and her fear and worry seemed to just evaporate.

She is unusually quiet, but she is very much a Jack Russell. She must be on a leash or in a fenced yard at all times. She will go on hikes and hunting expeditions if she is not contained .
As any Jack Russell should, she has a strong prey instinct and doesn’t understand that cats are any different than squirrels, so she must be in a home without cats. She loves the other dogs here at her foster home and they all love her.

Betty is a sweet, wonderful girl. She is 2 to 3 years old, spayed, heart-worm negative, micro-chipped, current on all shots and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm/parasite prevention medication. If you would like to adopt Betty, please contact Christopher at uncbare@yahoo.com.
