MAX. Hi, I am Max and I'm looking for my forever home. My loving owner has gotten a bit elderly and forgetful and can no longer take care of me. I sort of understand, but it is still a bit traumatic for me. I am a handsome, 2-1/5 years old long-haired black and tan dachshund. I like cats (go figure), but do not care for children under 12. I've had a couple of bad experiences. Little kids don't always understand about the sensibilities of dachshunds, and how fragile we really are. I like to play with my toys, sit by you on the couch, or when you are doing your computer work. I'm good on a leash, like car rides, and am generally an all round good guy. Come meet me.=====The adoption fee is $350, no exceptions. The fees include spay/neuter, rabies, dhpp, bordetella, pyrantel, advantage treatment, grooming including nails, as well as complete exam at our doxie vet. Each dog comes with custom made doxie halter, all new toys and blankets. All in all, an investment greater than the adoption fee. We have very strict adoption guidelines because we require an escape proof fenced yard and someone who is home most pof the day. Kids over 10 are ok, but no cats less they've been raised with them, or other small prey animals (these are hunters).
