Bowtie's Story...
Bowtie is a very sweet, female, bully breed Staffordshire Terrier, who has a fractured femur. It apparently happened sometime in the past and our vets have advised us to just allow it to continue to heal, as the optimal window for repair has passed. She is a young adult, and appears to have had a litter in the past at her young age. Bowtie is super sweet and complains about nothing. She does not act like she is in pain, she just has a slight limp. She would make an amazing therapy dog as she lays quietly and enjoys the attention, but is not needy!
Given the breed, she would be an amazing advocate for bully breeds everywhere!

We are monitoring the healing process, but are taking serious applications for this lovely gal.

All donations are being accepted to help defray the cost of additional radiographs and monitoring.

Are you interested in adopting Bowtie or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.

Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org , faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at Petsmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center).

We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application for Bowtie.

Thanks for thinking adoption!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bowtie, a Smithfield American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Smithfield, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Smithfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Smithfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Smithfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Smithfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
