Here's what the humans have to say about me:
please apply at
www.sadt.info
George is located in SF right now but for the right perfect matching person he can be partially transported depending where person lives if around here in Redding he could most likely get a full ride here.
Please read bio before applying as there is a specific home George is looking for to be happy in
George is around 3 year old Newfoundland/Chow mix and a very handsome boy, healthy, happy, fluffy coat
George will need a home that has experience with Chows and their tendency to guard their master from other humans and dogs when at own home so looking only for country or city outskirts quiet home with little foot traffic
He's a quick learner, takes treats and food gently, walks well on leash (learned with a gentle leader), and knows "sit."
He enjoys belly rubs and sleeps through the night without incident.
He can be enthusiastic and friendly when meeting other dogs. He's got a very trademark Newfoundland ("Newfie") profile.
George was returned by his former adopters for attempting to guard the wife from her husband in certain situations, and would do best with a single adopter as he becomes attached to "his person." just as Chows do, he seems to love women but could just as well be with a man if the right person
George was best buddies with a under 20 pound very submissive male dog he came in with as a stray here in Redding area, he was then transported to a rescue in SF but the city life does not do him well being a country boy all his life
Once we have your application and approved as a match applicant can speak with other rescue in SF and the foster person
We can only let him go to a alpha good leader that has had Chows in past and knows about their temperament
Looking for a leader woman or man that wants a best buddy to do things with as George is active and likes to do stuff out in nature
adoption fee, homecheck, vet references, fenced yard, must have Chow experience
