Zeke's Story...
ATTENTION PARENTS! ZEKE LOVES CHILDREN....Zeke is a very handsome and loyal two year old black lab mix. He found himself homeless and on death row. Being a black dog, he didn't stand much of chance until Lucky Lab heard his plea. Zeke is now thriving in a great foster home waiting on his new family. Zeke is an all around great boy. He would be considered low/medium energy. Zeke loves other dogs and doesn't even mind the kitties. He would love to be in a home with children as he currently lives in a foster home with a 4 and 1 1/2 year old human foster sisters and absolutely adores them. Zeke will not jump up on you and is very conscious about the children. He makes sure to walk around them and not to knock them down. Zeke walks great on his harness and would love to be able to go out for long walks, hikes, or a beach trip. Zeke is house trained and will even let you know when he needs to go outside. He is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations including rabies and is heartworm negative and kept on prevention. He is also micro-chipped. If you think Zeke may be that missing part of your family, please fill out an online application and indicate Zeke in the notes section.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zeke, a Salem Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
