Penelope's Story...
What are you looking at? I see you, looking down your nose at me making sure my coat is just the right color, inspecting whether or not I have any imperfections. I may not have a home to call my own, no one to worry about my health or whether I’m eating or not and no one to love me, but that doesn’t mean that you have to treat me like I’m a piece of steak on display and you are deciding whether you want steak or lobster. I have feelings too. Now that I’ve gotten all that out – Hello, I’m Penelope. A German Shepherd/Alaskan Malamute mix born approximately 2/07. I am up to date on shots, have been spayed and am current on heartworm prevention. I weighed about 30lbs at 4 months old so I'm going to be a large breed girl. I love everyonew I meet and I would love to be the new addition to your family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penelope, a Baton Rouge German Shepherd Dog/Alaskan Malamute puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Alaskan Malamute for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Alaskan Malamute puppy from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Alaskan Malamute breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Alaskan Malamute rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
