Hi :) My name is Maui. I am a 20-year old female blue & gold macaw. My previous owner loved me very much! I have been well taken care of but due to some stress in my life, I have plucked out the feathers on my tummy, back, and a little under my wings. I do try to stop, but hey, don’t we all know some habits are tough to break. I love being out of my cage and hanging out with my foster mom. She absolutely adores me! I am sweet, never bite, step up easily, and only get a little nervous when she pets my head. I am looking for a wonderful home with someone that has plenty of time to spend with me, and understands that I have had something of a tragic past. You see, my mate and I were attacked by a hawk, and I lost my beloved mate. I ended up with a broken wing, and a broken heart. While my wing has healed with no real trouble, I can get a little nervous sometimes. I am hoping my new home will understand and offer me lots of love!
