Severe Macaw

Pixie is a 5 year old Severe Macaw and she is quite the character! She is being fostered at the Country Chase Veterinary Clinic store in Tampa, Natural Paws, and she just loves it! She sits at the large window andwatches people walking by and then entertains them when they come into the shop. She is a very curious little girl and is very friendly. Like most macaws, she has her favorite people, but if you are comfortable around her, then she is comfortable around you! As you can see she has full and healthy feathering and is just beautiful! Pixie does have an issue with defecating, she tends to hold it (not because of any medical issue, but possibly because of training or just her preference) but because of that she has to be watched closely for bacterial infections in her poop, but other than that, she is very healthy. She is on a pelleted diet and loves fruits and veggies. Severe macaws have a very long life span, so she will be around to be your family companion for a long time to come!
