Annie's Story...
Meet Annie, a 2 year old female English Pointer.Lab mix. This pretty girl is on the larger side, at about 65 pounds, but is very much a lady: she is kind, gentle, sweet and affectionate. Annie was rescued from a high-kill shelter in South Carolina, with only hours left to live. Annie doesn't want to be an orphan anymore, and hopes for her loving forever home to come soon! Annie loves other dogs, people of all ages, and though she has not lived with a cat, we think she would be ok with one. She is not hyper, and not very high-energy. Annie especially loves human attention, neck scratches and playing with squeaky toys. If you think you can provide Annie with a loving forever home filled with bones for her to chew and plenty of love, please email adoptions@gimmeshelteranimalrescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Annie, a Sagaponack Pointer/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer/Labrador Retriever for sale in Sagaponack, or seeking a Pointer/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Sagaponack.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sagaponack already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sagaponack breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Pointer/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sagaponack paves the way for another one to be saved.
