My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Yogi is almost pure white with blue eyes. She is a very special little girl who is bilaterally deaf, we don't believe she can hear at all. She also has visual impairments, but her deafness is her only noticeable impairment.

Yogi is extremely sweet and loves to be held or sit quietly in your lap. She is currently fostered with her sister Lacey, other dogs large and small, cats and parrots-she isn't as interested in the parrots. Yogi has become best friends with the resident 4 year old deaf and visually impaired Dane. Yogi's adoption fee includes spaying when age appropriate.

Interested adopters MUST meet the following criteria, NO EXCEPTIONS:
*Adopters must have a fenced yard
*A resident "guide dog" who is gentle and will be tolerant of a baby who can't hear warning growls, etc.
*Experience with giant breeds.
*Enroll the puppy in an obedience course/training program geared for impaired dogs.

WE WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT BUDGE on proper homes for these babies...without stable and knowledgeable homes, deaf Danes often end up as bite risks or returning to rescue again and again.Raised properly and lovingly, "deafies" can be the best companion you've ever had by your side though! There are many resources available for owning and training hearing/vision impaired dogs on the web - read up.
