UPDATE: Ruthie can be adopted! She has been spayed and cleared from the vet.

Ruthie is a very special girl. She was found some tall grass after a good Samaritan saw her being weed whacked. OOAL was notified and came to her rescue. Ruthie was rushed to the vet where it was confirmed that she had no feeling in her leg due to permanent nerve damage and would need it amputated. Ruthie spent several days in the hospital because she was not stable enough for her surgery. After 4 days Ruthie was finally able to have her leg amputated.
Ruthie is recovering nicely at home. She is learning to walk using only 3 legs and is doing wonderful. It is going to be a several weeks before Ruthie is ready for adoption.
