found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
SAM is a neutered male, 46 lb. Black and Tan Basset Hound and Norwegian Elkhound Mix. The shelter thinks Sam was about 1 year old when he arrived on June 5, 2007. Sam is a great dog! and a "real looker"---just makes you smile because of his delightfully unusual breed combination. He is happy, outgoing, VERY friendly and lively, and seems to like other dogs. Sam likes exploring the play yard, sniffing all around the parameter. As he is part basset - you need a fenced yard for his protection, as he will follow his nose. He is pretty good walking on the gently leader and doesn't fight it much with it, but Sam would really thrive if his new owners will keep up his training. Read below for the training assistance we offer with all shelter dogs.
Sam was brought in from another shelter as part of our THIRD CHANCE Program. Although he is very adoptable, he may have run out of time at the other shelter. He now has a Third Chance to find his forever home because of Pet Project Foundation's pro-humane effort.
Starting the adoption process you need to be 18 years or older, complete an application http://www.petprojectfoundation.org/dogadoption.pdf, be interviewed and it is strongly recommend all members of your household and any dogs you have at home must be brought in to socialize with the dog you wish to adopt in our play yard, to make the best match for everyone, and be able to verify with your landlord that you may have a pet if you are renting.
