Sally's Story...
Sally is a beautiful 4.5 month old hound/lab mix puppy. She is friendly, rambunctious, and loves to jump up to say hello and smother you with kisses! She is being fostered in New England with her brother Bernard. Sally is bigger than Bernard, and also a bit more active. Sally is about 24 pounds right now, and should get to be between 50-60lbs when full grown. She is wonderful with other dogs, and has been introduced to cats at her foster Mom's house, and did great! She wanted to play with them, but was not aggressive at all. She is young enough to learn to live with them perfectly. Sally would do fine with children as well, once she learn to be a bit less mouthy! Sally is spayed and up to date on all of her vaccinations.

Please remember that while puppies are adorable and fun, they are a lot of work! Sally will need a patient family to work with her on housebreaking and some manners. If you are willing to commit to spending the time and effort needed to make her the wonderful family member that she can be, Sally promises to repay you with a lifetime of love and companionship!

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Claymont already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Claymont breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
