Our foster dogs live as family members in the foster home until chosen for adoption.
This is Valentino.
Hi. My name is Valentino. I am around a year old and I was rescued from an abusive, neglectful environment and was taken in by the shelter. I am so lucky to have found a foster family to teach me that all dogs don’t grow up in cages and all humans are not so bad. I am happy to be here while I wait for my forever family to find me.
My foster mom Laurie says this about me, ”Valentino is a total sweetheart. We call him Valley for short. You would never know how sadly his life began because he is as sweet as a dog can be. When we took him in he was nothing but skin and bones, his back legs were weak and seemed somewhat misshapen, and he was very subdued. In a very short time he has transformed into a completely different dog. He runs around the back yard and tries to get my other two lazy dogs to play with him. He has learned quickly that it is WAY more comfortable to lie on the couch than on the hard floor and he loves a good toy. He is starved for attention but is not aggressive. He just wants to be loved.
I believe that he is a Lab/Boxer/Pit Bull mix. We are working on the house training issue. Prior to being with us, he only knew to go in a cage or in his kennel. We are crate training him and he is learning that it is good to go outside. He has not ever gone in the house but he has still gone in his crate. We are making progress.
He is still very thin but is slowly gaining weight. He is up to date on all of his shots and is micro-chipped. He gets along well with my Boxer and Beagle. He is curious about cats and may give chase but my cats are fine with him. Also he is wonderful with my 12 year old son. He would be such a sweet, loving addition to any family looking for a dog that deserves to be loved.”
My adoption package includes license, microchipping (to keep me from getting lost), shots (which include DHLPP, Bordatella and a dewormer) and neuter (which has been done).
Thanks for considering a rescue dog!!
