My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rusty is a cool little dog who doesn't know a stranger. He loves all dog and enjoys being around people. Happy and alert. Curious, clever, lively, affectionate, proud, brave, and amusing. Always knows whats going on around him and demands to be involved in all activities. He is just a big puppy!!! Rides well in cars and leash trained. Favorite hobby: playing with his little sister and other dogs. Devoted family member. Great pet for an active household. Home with another canine is preferred so he can have someone to play with. The smooth coat requires regular rubdown with a damp cloth. This breed is an average shedder. This is an active dog with surprising stamina; he needs to be walked daily. He will also enjoy sessions of play in the park or other safe open areas.
Rusty is around 1-1/2 years old and weights 14 lbs. Full grown. (NOTE: Please keep in mind that the profile pictures were taken 2 months ago. Roxy is just about the size of her brother..They are starting to look like identical twins). Roxy and her big brother Rusty were turned in as strays to a high kill shelter in Georgia. Its hard to believe that no one looked for them. Now they both are looking for loving homes where they can live happily ever after!

Thank you for your interest in Rusty. The rescue who is bringing Rusty has the information on Rusty's background. The rescue has asked Dog Days to pre-screen interested adopters for all of their dogs coming to our event.

APPLICATION FORM: http://godogdays.org/find-my-new-best-friend.htm (Copy and paste to browser.)

If you would like to begin the application process, please fill in the form at the link above and we will review your information, call your personal and well as vet references. PLEASE Fill in the application if you're interested in adoption, this will save you time at the event. A letter from your vet on their letterhead will also be very helpful if they won't be open for us to call as a reference. If you are renting, please note you must have a written letter of permission from your landlord to own a dog on their property. Dog Days will be conducting interviews of prospective adopters. As a policy, Dog Days will not hold dogs for potential adopters so it is important to come to the event by 11:00am Saturday morning if you have your heart set on a particular dog. We will be posting more information on each dog as we get closer to the event weekend which is June 23-24 at Chester Fairgrounds. PLEASE NOTE THAT DOGS ARE GIVEN TO THE BEST HOME, NOT FIRST IN LINE.

ADOPTION EVENT INFORMATION: http://www.godogdays.org/ (Copy and paste into your browser.)

We hope you will understand the careful scrutiny of potential adopters is not only for the safety and well-being of the dog but also for a positive experience for your household. Thank you for saving the life of a shelter dog through adoption; you are truly a hero.
