Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Willie is a handsome 12 year old neutered lab/pointer mix. He was given up to a mountain shelter - where his chances of being adopted were virtually nonexistent - because his former owner lost her home and was forced to live in an efficiency apartment with her teenage son and their other dog. She said she couldn't afford to take care of him anymore, especially since he was aging. He is heartbroken at his loss and still looks for his people whenever anyone new comes to the shelter. And a shelter is not a great place for any dog, much less a senior boy who has done nothing to deserve to be dumped.
Willie is an absolute gem - house trained, sweet as pie, good with other dogs, cats and kids. He is healthy for his age - just some achy joints easily remedied with good food, supplements, moderate walks and pain meds. He is said to not to be good with chickens - but then, who is?
Can you help us un-break his heart for the time he has left? All he needs is love, a soft bed and YOU to love right back!
Our adoption process includes an application, phone interview, and home visit. As we strive to make the best match between dog and adopter, it is not first come/first served.
