Maximus (Max) is a 1 year old neutered male German Shepherd/Husky mix. He is just a pup, very playful, and a wonderful walking companion. This is what his current foster Mom said about Max:

"I had him on 50' rope and took him for a walk around the pond. He pretty much stayed by my side all the time. He likes to get into the pond and tries to eat water. What a goof! He will not soil in his kennel. I have to remember to let him out as soon as I get home because he will hold it until he is out.

At the first test with him seeing our barn cat, Max wouldn't go anywhere near the cat and when cat moved, the big GSD took cover behind me! He did pretty much the same when he met my BearDog (GSD x Lab x Malamute X something) through the fence and Bear growled at him.

He did get a bath and he got to play with my Sasha (8 year old dog who LOVES young boys…. HA! HA!!!!) They played very nicely.. ran around trees and wrestled. He almost seemed a bit submissive with her. I moved him from the solitary confinement kennel to the new Kennel where my dogs are. He is right next to my crew but they are separated by chain link. He showed no aggression towards any of my crew even though my boys were not very nice to him. He was just very curious and kept wagging his tail. I didn’t even see any raised hair on his back.

GSD vs cat round two: He showed a lot more interest in the cat last evening. Actually wanted to go after the cat but when the cat hissed at him, he acted all scared and backed away. Still too early to tell for sure if he can be posted as ok with cats.

Max was perfectly fine during his bath. At first he was a bit spooked by the water but then decided that he likes the rubbing and the body massage. Eventually he relaxed and just sat down and didn’t even move."

Max is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and ready to find a wonderful permanent home. If you are interested in adopting this dog, click
