Penguin will be 8 weeks old on June 30th (Born on Cinco de Mayo). She can go to her new home as soon as this Sunday (6/28).
She is one of a litter of five, other pups still available will also be listed with our rescue on adoptapet.com. (Look for the the bird theme names to find other puppies in this litter!)
You can see information on the mother here: http://www.adoptapet.com/pet7181872.html
One puppy from this litter was DNA tested with a Wisdom Panel Insights cheek swab test.
Their mother (who we have and you can meet) is half Border Collie, half Chow.
Their father is half Swedish Volland and half "Mixed Breed" (to include Golden Retriever, Dalmatian, Collie, and Chesapeake Bay Retriever). You will be provided with a copy of the DNA results page!
Adoption fee is $250.
There will also be an additional $100 spay deposit. Penguin is not old enough to be spayed yet, so when she is 16 weeks old, you bring her back to our vet and we will pay for her spay AND return your $100 deposit to you. (If you live far away, we can discuss other options instead of bringing her back to Greeley/Fort Collins area).
We do require a home visit. We do ask that a home visit be completed prior to the puppy coming to your home. If the home visit goes well, you can meet your puppy and THEN finalize the adoption.
All adoptions come with 30 days of free pet health insurance and a coupon for half off a 1 hour, in-home training session with Cindy Bohannan, Certified Dog Trainer (a $20 value!).
If you have any questions or are interested in adopting Penguin, please contact us or find our adoption application at www.caninecandor.com/adoption-application.html

Canine Candor is an organization designed to provide rescue, fostering, placement and networking to all dogs in need! We are a 501(c)3, nonprofit, state license, no kill organization.
A top priority right now for Canine Candor is to grow it's number of foster homes and focus on getting dogs out of emergency situations and into loving homes. Some dogs may be up for euthanasia at overcrowded shelters, others simply abandoned by their owners, or maybe the victims of a tough economy where owners must downsize and can't afford their pets any longer. These dogs all deserve a fair chance to get out of these situations and find their way into a new and promising future.

Canine Candor is a foster based rescue, meaning there is not a public facility with regular hours of operation.
Please contact us to meet any of our dogs! We do ask that you fill out an application prior to setting up a visit. Feel free to email us ahead of time if you have questions about this process.
We will post any upcoming adoption events as we schedule them!
Adoption applications and acceptance are required to adopt from Canine Candor as well as a home visit. (The home visit is a time for us and you to make sure this is a good fit before completing the adoption.)
You can find our adoption application on our website at www.caninecandor.com/adoption-application.html
Canine Candor does not adopt out to anyone with a history of animal abuse or neglect.
Adoption fees apply. They vary from dog to dog based on age, breed, special needs, and length of time in rescue.
An adoption fee helps cover expenses of spaying/neutering, microchipping, other veterinary and training expenses for the rescue dogs.
Please contact us if you have any questions!
Canine Candor, Inc. is based out of Greeley, Colorado and rescues dogs from Colorado. We adopt dogs mainly to Colorado residents but are not state specific if transportation is provided by the adopter.
