My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Peggy Sue. I was rescued from death row, in a south Alabama shelter. I've never had a family to love me. I've never been treated real-nice before. I've never felt safe or happy or okay. Instead... I've been under-fed and over-bred, all the days of my life.

Actually, when I was picked-up by the shelter, I was extremely pregnant. I was due to give birth... any day. Yet, the shelter forced me to have an abortion, which meant that my NINE full-term puppies... were essentially --killed-- as soon as they entered this world... without my consent.

When I came to my Ashley-Mom, I was still mourning the loss of my babies. I felt lonely; I felt needy; I felt sad. At that time, I clung to my new mom, because I just couldn't understand what had happened. I was a mom, too... with no babies. I promise... I would've been a good mom, as I'd been all the times before

These things that had happened to me... weren't my fault. I never wanted to become another "breeder dog," but regardless, I loved my children, more than I loved myself.
Yet, they were all killed... 9 of my babies... before my very eyes.

Even still, my Ashley-Mom felt my pain. She helped me. She comforted me. She loved me. No one had ever done that for me before. Today, I'm a different girl, than I was back then. I'm so loving, affectionate, and thankful. All I want... the ONLY thing I want... is for someone to love me forever.
Are you my new family? If so, please know... I've been waiting for you... all my life. Please take me home.
