My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Deerfield is the sweetest, gentlest boy ever. We were trying to clean up a neighborhood near our shelter that is overrun with unspayed and unneutered cats. When we first started trapping there, Deerfield was our first catch. He was so friendly that we didn't need the trap. We just picked him up and put him in a carrier. When he got to our vet's, we found out that not only was he already neutered, but declawed! He had been living outside completely defenseless in an area where Pitt Bulls were actually eating kittens. He is very affectionate and talkative and has fur as soft as velvet. He's not feeling very safe in a shelter with 75 cats and would love to have a place of his own. We found him a home for a while, but the economic downturn has forced his owner to move to California to move in with family members and she can't take him. If a declawed kitty was something you were thinking about, he's already been done and really needs a home.
