found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.
Sugar is very clingy and is trying so hard to please and do the right thing. The previous owner told the shelter that she was good with other dogs, kids and cats and she is housebroken. She is housebroken but she can be arbritary with other dogs - she either loves them or she hates them. So, we err on the side of caution and say that we prefer a home with no other dogs. We have vaccinated Sugar and she is up to date on heartworm and flea preventative. She is also spayed. She desperately needs a very special person or family who will keep her exercise limited for the first year of her treatment (slow kill method) and will enjoy restoring this girl's confidence and faith in people. Sugar just LOVES to watch TV ... and I mean, she really sits there, head tilted and concentrates. She has faced death at two kill shelters we know of, yet she remains so overjoyed with life and adores everybody, her spirit has never been broken despite the odds. Sugar really just wants (and needs) to be somebody's baby; she is very happy to hang around at home and wait for you to come home, regardless if you work long hours. As long as she is can have dedicated snuggle time when you get home, she is in Sugar Heaven! A very simple girl who has a heart of gold and will adore her person unconditionally. She is supposed to be on restricted exercise as she undergoes the slow kill heartworm treatment, but she will need an initial 2-5 minutes burst of excited running around like a looney-tune, and after that, she just wants to be quiet and hug. This is a perfect dog for a single person who works all day and wants to come home to a great companion - you can exercise together with daily walks, and then go snuggle together on the couch in the evenings! She will not go to the bathroom in your house, nor will she chew your furniture and shoes. She loves to go in the car and also hang out at dog-friendly restaurants. A really great dog that just needs a chance with somebody special to call her own.
Sugar's adoption donation is $35 but we are running a special and any of our dogs that are being adopted out prior to 30 June 2012, will get 50% off the adoption donation. So, this beautiful senior is ready to be adopted to a great person for only $15!

Our adoption process is very easy and fast! We ask that you read the descriptions of all of our available dogs and if there are any that catch your eye, please fill out our easy online adoption application. The applications are answered very quickly. If we believe the dog will be a great lifetime match for you (and your family/existing pets), then we will set up an immediate appointment for you to come out and enjoy a playdate. In many instances, where the application has been pre-approved, the adoptive family may take the dog home the same day.
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, wormed, up to date on heartworm and flea preventative. They were all rescued at the 11th hour from a high kill shelter. We are a working horse farm, so we kindly ask that you make an appointment to view dogs in order that we can stop training the horses and give you our undivided attention.
We cannot guarantee that these dogs are fully house-broken, nor can we guarantee that they will not suffer from some form of separation anxiety. Our dogs interact with the other rescues here, they get a lot of attention and a lot of exercise. During the day, they are outside in huge, comfortable, shady kennels and overnight, they live in converted 12 x 12 horse stalls. So, they will need adjusting back to living in a home. We strongly recommend crate training and most of our dogs are crate trained. The crate is not cruel - but rather a place of peace, comfort and security where the dog has its own place to eat, play with toys and sleep in peace. We will let you know if a dog suffers from separation anxiety and advise those dogs will probably be best with a home where somebody is there all time :-)
Please read our home page article "Things To Consider Before You Adopt ..." just to make sure you are fully prepared for this lifetime commitment of welcoming a new family member into your home.
