Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Pookie, an American bulldog mix who is estimated to be 1.5-2 years old. .
. Pookie is now up to his ideal weight of about 75 pounds and has been neutered; he’s heartworm-negative with all his vaccinations and is in excellent health.
Here’s what Pookie’s foster mom has to say about him:
Pookie is a GREAT dog, a big mush who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. He is a great snuggler and a very funny guy—he can easily amuse himself for a good hour if given a (durable!) toy to play with, and frequently rolls over on his back and wiggles around with a toothy grin on his face, inviting a good belly rub. Pookie is a gorgeous and striking boy with one blue eye and one steel-grey eye, and he gets admiring comments wherever he goes.
He’s housebroken, knows ‘sit’ and ‘stay,’ and is smart and highly trainable. He seems to love car rides and is very nicely behaved in the car (even on a recent 2.5-hour drive!). He has been very friendly to every person he’s met and seems equally comfortable and friendly with men and women. .
What you should know if you’re interested in adopting Pookie:
• He is a big, powerful, young dog who needs consistent exercise (he’ll be a great walking/jogging partner) and an owner with strong leadership skills to be at his best. Pookie has responded very well to positive training methods and should continue with this type of training. He has gotten a very enthusiastic vote of confidence from our trainer/behaviorist.
• Pookie craves companionship and will do best in a home where he is not left alone for long periods of time; that said, he is not a dog who requires constant entertainment, and is quite content to snooze in my office all day while I’m working.
We expect that this will continue to improve over time with consistent exercise and appropriate training
