Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Beagles are adorable. Snoopy is a Beagle, and usually they are adopted from the shelter as quickly as they arrive. But not so for our fabulous Beagle named Hunter who has been at the shelter for several months. Hunter is an adult dog who walks nicely on leash, which is a great benefit because normally a beagle pulls a lot while following his nose. Hunter jumps sometimes because he’s so pleased to see you but he is so friendly you have to forgive him and he is happiest when being pet. So why is Hunter experiencing an extended stay at the shelter? Frankly because he “looks kinda funny”. Hunter suffers from a skin condition which was left untreated and by the time he arrived at the shelter Hunter had lost 90+% of his hair and his skin was red and sore. Hunter is being treated and responding well but slowly which is the norm for an older dog with this condition. Hunter will need a little extra TLC to keep his skin and whatever may return of his coat in the best condition possible. But “looking kinda funny” doesn’t stop Hunter being an adorable and adoring Beagle and as we all know, everyone loves a Beagle.
