My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

One look at 7 yr old, 16 lb Bono and it was easy to see his life had been very hard. His coat was dull, dry and brittle. He was missing hair on his tail. He has old scars and bite wounds all over his body and ears. In addition he is missing chunks of his ears. Not only that but he when animal control picked him up, he had an abscessed anal gland and an eye infection. Of course he also needed a dental and to be neutered. Dogs like Bono that need medical care are only saved if a rescue will take them. Thankfully a foster home stepped forward and even drove to Sacramento to get him.

Bono has now left the hard times behind and is ready for the good life. His coat is starting to look shiny and sleek. His infections have all been taken care of and he got that much needed dental and neuter.

While we knew we could fix up his physical woes, we had been worried about how he might get along with other dogs (those scars all over his body). Much to our delight, Bono has been wonderful with all the dogs. He is now is an extremely crowded foster home and he is one of the dogs his foster mom does not ever have to worry about. He is even good with young puppies that recently arrived.

Bono is also wonderful with people, happily greeting everyone he meets. When he first arrived in foster care, he was afraid to come in the house. Boy, are those days over. We wish we would have videotaped his first time up on the big bed. You have never seen a dog express such sheer joy.

While Bono is thrilled with his new life, he is going to be even happier when he goes to a new home where he can get more human attention.

Bono crates without complaint. He actually doesn’t seem to complain about anything. He’s gotten a bit pudgy and could use a home that monitors his food. He would also like to go on at least the occasional walk..

Bono is neutered, micro chipped and current on his vaccinations.
