My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This absolutely beautiful girl was LEFT IN AN EMPTY HOUSE - without food or water -
when her family moved. Thank goodness a kind animal rescuer bought the home, and she
has been caring for Alana ever since.

Alana is between seven and nine years young!

It is always astounding, no matter how many times we hear about this or rescue a dog in
this situation, to imagine how someone, anyone, could pack up, call a moving truck, and
throw away their faithful friend along with the old couch or stained rug AFTER SO MANY
YEARS! They did this without so much as a glance back in her direction, without leaving
her a favorite toy for some kind of security, or, worst of all, without notifying someone
that they left their dog in peril. I sincerely hope and pray that the person repsonsible for
this pays big time in years to come.

Alana would be welcome to stay with her advocate (who has other dogs). However, one
other dog in the home and Alana do not get along (Alana DOES get along with the other
female and the male dog). Reportedly, this sweetheart is no trouble. Despite being
abandoned all alone in an empty house, and despite her family walking away and never
looking back, Alana loves life and the people around her. Sadly, a middle-aged Shepherd
mix dog has a lot of competition - there are so many wonderful dogs out there in
desperate need of their own loving homes. But, won't you look into Alana's soft brown
eyes? Can't you open your heart to a forgiving little girl and teach her that there still is
hope in the world for a little mutt like her?

Alana is NOT with The Buddy Project for Animal Rescue, Inc. This is a courtesy post. But,
if you think you can restore Alana's faith in all that is good in life, Alana's friend, Nancy,
would like to speak with you. PLEASE CALL HER AT: 631-648-8204
