My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Leige is a calm, quiet and affectionate pet. He is a middle aged guy approximately 4 – 6 years old He is so eager to please and all he really wants is to be loved and to be someone’s best friend. He is a very gentle dog who loves people. He is well behaved and could be left for a normal working day with no issues. Leige weighs 35 lbs.

Here is what his foster mom had to say about Leige:

Leige is very friendly and loves to be around people. He enjoys playing fetch with his tennis ball and going for walks. He is timid around people who are overly aggressive and prefers a gentle hand. Leige loves to cuddle and is extremely gentle. Lee is good with adults, he has not had time to interact with children yet but does wag his tail when he sees them.

Lee has had no problems with dogs while on walks, but does not like it when dogs charge out at him. He prefers to interact initally with dogs in a controlled manner. He would do well as the only dog in the home as he likes to get all the attention. He is not used to being around cats but is working on it.

Lee loves playing with his tennis ball, even when on his own and cuddling, he has become my shadow in the house. I have never needed to crate Lee and he continues to have full run of the house without any issues. He is fully house trained and will let you know when he needs to go out. Lee comes when called and understands the words no. He is learning to stay, sit and lie down. Lee enjoys car rides and will go to sleep. However, he likes to jump out of the car as soon as you open the door. Lee is well behaved and quiet in the house. He chews on his toys. He will sleep on the bed and couch.

Lee was in very bad condition when he came into our care but his coat is starting to look really good and if he continues on a good diet it should continue to improve.

Lee is extremely gentle, quiet and loves to cuddle. He would not be suited for a home with a cat unless someone was willing to take the time to introduce them. He could live in a home with another dog. He will chase after squirrels and other tiny animals so his adoptive parents need to be able to control him in these situations. He is outgoing and likes to do things with people and should be with a family that is going to make him part of their lifestyle. Lee is always excited to meet new people on walks and is always looking to please whoever he is with.

If you think Leige would be happy with your family, please submit an application to http://www.uglymutts.com found under "The Dogs" tab for consideration.
