Basil's Story...
Basil is an adorable, easy-going purr-machine. He's super cuddly and loving, always grateful for your affection! He likes to be held and will cozy up next to you in bed every night. Basil still acts like a kitten -- he loves to romp around and is even a little clumsy! He especially loves jumping up high to catch laser lights and then rolling around in cat nip. He's a very little guy but enjoys playing with other friendly cats. He's well-behaved and doesn't jump on counters, but loves sitting on the window sill to watch birds fly by. Basil would make a great companion and is looking for his forever home. Basil was born approx around 5/5/12.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Basil, a New York Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in New York, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
