Pearl's Story...
Beautiful Pearl, about age 5, was abandoned at Richmond SPCA, but the cheap trick didn't work: she ended up at Richmond Animal Control. She has blue eyes and we think she is either partially or completely deaf. She has no volume control on her voice, either! She is active, lively and a little hyperactive, but that could be from being cooped up in a cage too long. Her fur is wispy and light, without mats, which is great. This sweet girl deserves a wonderful home where people won't just dump her like a bag of trash!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pearl, a Petersburg Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Petersburg, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Petersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Petersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Petersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Petersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
