We would like to introduce you to Chloe, a 7 year old rotti/lab mix. This beautiful girl has spent her WHOLE life on a chain - secured to a tree. For 7 long years, she has produced litter after litter, trying to take good care of her babies.
Thankfully for Chloe, someone was watching out for her. The local a/c noticed some puppies frolicking on the road. She picked up the pups and went to the owners home. She found out then that Chloe has been a "chained dog" for past 7 years. Thank God she persuaded the owner to sign both Chloe and the pups over to her. The puppies were vetted/vaccinated and adopted to good homes. Now it was Chloe's turn for vetting, however, upon taking some blood tests they found Chloe to be heart worm positive.
They have asked for our help and we could not turn this beautiful girl away.
Considering the way Chloe has had to live for the past 7 years, her temperament has not been affected. She is a lovely girl, great with other dogs and kids.
As soon as Chloe came into foster care she began the long treatment to get rid of the heartworm and is almost done and taking it all very well. Once Chloe's heart worm treatment is done and she is given a clean bill of health, Chloe will be spayed so she never has to endure another pregnancy again. Only then will Chloe be able to be adopted into the best home where she will live indoors as an integral part of a family.
Despite her sad past, Chloe is the most happy and affectionate girl. She is truly a special dog with a heart of gold. She lives to be close to her people and snuggle in as close as possible. She will follow you around everywhere and never lets you out of her sight, loyal is her middle name.
Chloe is fully crate trained, housetrained and walks well with a gentle leader. She enjoys hanging out outside basking up the sun and is good in the car. With proper introduction she is great with other dogs and likes to hang out with them and play every now and again. Chloe is not a barker, non destructive when left alone and calm in the house. She is great off leash and always comes running when called. Chloe would be the perfect dog for a beginner dog owner, she's perfect for just about anyone.
