My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rex!

Rex is a 4 year old Pit Bull Terrier mix and was rescued by an ADPR volunteer after they witnessed the owner threatening to shoot him. He has spent every day of the last four years on a chain and it shows in his behavior. He is so happy to see people that he doesn't know what to do with himself and he likes to jump up to give great big bear hugs. Surprisingly, he knows some basic commands. He can sit, lay down, and to a degree, stay. He's very energetic and would likely be a great jogging and/or hiking dog. He stays where he can see you and will come back when called. Tug toys are his favorite. If you're not careful you could spend the whole day playing tug o' war with him! At the end of the day he will go into his kennel and settle down. No whining or crying. He sleeps all through the night too! He is good with cats and as long as there aren't any toys, treats, or food around he's fine with other dogs. He's also fine with kids but due to his size and energy level he shouldn't be left unsupervised with small children. With a little obedience training and a lot of love, Rex will make an excellent family member.
