Sassy's Story...
Meet the lovely, happy Sassy! Sassy is a lovely white faced, blue eyed very close mix Border Collie. Her coat is mixed with multiple shades of the colors, blond, black, brown, red. She is not a merle, but the colors are well placed throughout her medium length coat. She is stunning.

Sassy will thrive in an active family who gives her enough exercise. She is very loveable and would like to snuggle up next to her human on the couch and sleep at the end of the bed. During a recent thunderstorm she was agitated in her create, but calmed completely down when she was let out of the crate and able to be with her foster human.

She is a smart girl and will respond well to training and a consistent routine. She lives with 5 foster siblings and shows no aggression whatsoever. She would do well with a canine playmate or as an only dog as long as she gets enough attention. She is very athletic

Sassy will need toys to play with and destroy. If left to her own devices, she may decide that the stuffing in your pillows needs to be freed of its encasement. She is attentive and alert and will learn the difference between toys and non-toys. Sassy is an indoor dog and would prefer a home that keeps her inside when she is home alone and at night time. She will appreciate an outside fenced yard and/or frequent walks.

Sassy is great in the crate and walks well on a leash and rides great in a car whether crated or not. She appears to be house trained, having no accidents since joining us several days ago. There is a dog door which she uses to get to the fenced yard where she loves to run and play with the other dogs.

Sassy is young. She is around 1.5 years old. She is heartworm negative and on heartworm and flea and tick preventative. She is up to date on all of her shots and microchipped.

This is a happy dog. She greets humans with a bright toothy smile which should not be mistaken for fear or aggression.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sassy, a Oliver Springs Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Oliver Springs, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Oliver Springs.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oliver Springs already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oliver Springs breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oliver Springs paves the way for another one to be saved.
