My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mack Truck, or Mack for short, has won over our household almost immediately. It took him no time at all to find his place and settle in. He is the best little 7 year old guy with an amazing personality and a few quirks! He loves to climb things...unfortunately this includes things that aren't conducive to getting back down. When you hear his howl you'll know he could use a hand getting back to ground level. He can escape from most areas he finds confining though he doesn't run away, just looks for his people. While his vision is poor he maintains full functionality. He learned to use the dog door in about 10 minutes and has not had a single accident since coming to our house. He loves his foster brother and sister, two Great Danes, named Onyx and Xander. He knows to duck and cover when Onyx gets wound up and learned to be careful not to step on old man Xander when he's sleeping (he can get a little cranky). He loves every dog and human he meets. He loves to go for walks though the danes walk awfully fast for his little legs to keep up! He is a very well adjusted, non-destructive, housebroken, happy-go-lucky little pug. It's impossible not to love him!

Mack is a 7 year old pug that was surrendered to us from another rescue in Iowa. We took him into our care because they knew his teeth were bad and were unable to fix them. MN-MPR knew we could help and took him into our loving arms. During his dental on Tuesday, we found out it was more severe than we could have ever imagined. During his dental, Mack's teeth were falling out of his jawbone. It could be from an injury, but we suspect it was from severe infection that has compromised his jaw. He will need to be seen by a specialist so the specialist can determine if we should do a plate, pin, or wire. We really need to fix this for Mack since he is only 7 years old. He deserves to know a good life as he is not that old. Once we get his jaw fixed, he will be a great pug for someone.

Update Monday, July 2: Mack is really enjoying the fact that the vet said he should only eat soft food right now. He thinks that is great! Mack will go in for x-rays on his jaw on Monday the 9th and will see the specialist on Saturday the 14th. From there, the rescue will be following the advice of the specialist on how to fix his jaw so that he doesn't hurt anymore.
