Chloe's Story
We got adopted when we were kittens and thought we'd be living happily ever after. Then a family member developed severe allergies, and we got moved outside. We were indoor/outdoor cats anyway, and we were fine with that. But our family felt guilty and thought we'd be better off in another home, so here were are in the Howard County Cat Club's group home. They miss us so much, and we miss them. We'd really like to live with older kids again and have a nice yard where we could run and play and climb trees. Wouldn't you just love to meet us? Contact the Howard County Cat Club to arrange an introduction.
Rescue Group Info...
The Howard County Cat Club is a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit no kill cat rescue. Our mission is to keep cats out of shelters because we believe that no cat deserves to live in a cage, or to be put to death because it is no longer wanted or in the way. We operate a behavior hotline to help cats and their human companions resolve their differences. We advise people who are trying to place their no-longer-wanted cats in loving new homes, and we foster cats in our "group home" when they have no place else to go.
We are not having adoption shows at the moment, but we invite you to our shelter to meet our cats. Please call or write for an appointment.
Potential forever families must complete an application and sign a contract. Our contract stipulates that you will NOT declaw and that the cat will be returned to us if things don't work out. Cats who are adopted together must be returned together -- they may not be separated. Our contract also stipulates that you will feed wet food -- we do not want our cats to have dry food-only diets. We DO adopt to safe, responsible indoor/outdoor homes. And we almost always have ferals who must be relocated to barn homes.
