Kip's Story...
Kip is a dog that is so full of life! He wants to play, play, play!!! He was so excited when we got him out of his run! It was as if he had won the lotto! He wanted to jump up and lick everyone one...even my camera!!!

Poor Kip has been in the shelter since May 5, 2007...so I can't emphasize enough that his time is limited.

I was rather surprised when we looked at his teeth. Based on the tartar build up in the back of his mouth and that he already has his adult canines, I would guess he's between 2-3 years old. Just by looking at his size I originally thought he was about 5-7 months old! So, he's pretty small.

Kip is very active, so he needs a home that would have the same amount of energy. He would be one of those dogs that would love to play ball or tug of war with someone all day! He would probably do good with kids too!

Please call the shelter ASAP!! Kip needs out NOW!!! 502-633-0009

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kip, a Shelbyville Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Shelbyville, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Shelbyville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Shelbyville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Shelbyville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Shelbyville paves the way for another one to be saved.
