Elsa's Story...
I came to AWLMC from the Montgomery County Humane Society. I was found living behind a dumpster at a fast food restaurant. I am a beautiful medium haired blue cream torti. Due to having lots of mats when I arrived at the county shelter, I was shaved. Luckily all my beautiful fur has grown back in. I am shy at first meeting and in new situations, but give some time and I settle in just fine. I am a true sweetheart! I like to talk and will tell you all about my day when you arrive home. I am friendly and loveable. I don’t mind being picked-up, but please do not touch my belly. I love to look at the window. My new owners will have to be careful with me around doors. I used to live outside and sometimes I am a little too curious about what is on the side of the door. Please be mindful of this if I become your new family member. Come see me and my friends at the shelter today! I was born in 2008.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elsa, a Gaithersburg Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Gaithersburg, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in Gaithersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gaithersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gaithersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gaithersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
