Sadie has come SO VERY FAR in two months and we are thrilled with her progress. She is getting out and about just about anywhere we can take her. The biggest change in Sadie's life is that she now trusts people. She knows people will take care of her, not hurt her. Sadie no longer shows aggression when she is nervous, but instead she moves away if she is unsure of someone (occasionally she growls a little, but this is becoming less and less).

Sadie LOVES to go for walks, which is a big asset in socializing her. Sadie has been wearing an open basket muzzle when walking in busy areas as a precaution - with this precaution we are able to expose her to as many new things as possible while keeping everyone safe. Sadie proved at our recent Petsmart Meet and Greet that she is ready to put the muzzle on the shelf! Sadie hung out with the other the other NBCR dogs for four hours (a long day for any dog) and met tons of different people. In most cases with a little time and a few treats, she soon liked any person she was wary of. Sadie trusts women much more easily than men, however she warms up to anyone, though it takes a little more time.

Once Sadie trusts someone, she is immediately in their lap and loves to be lavished with pets! Sadie also loves to give kisses and is a big time snuggler! :) She has gotten along with every well behaved child she has met. She had a great time giving kids lots of kisses at our recent meet and greet. We recommend her for a home with children 10 or older.

Sadie is learning some manners, such as not jumping up (she is just sooo happy to see you!). She is treat motivated and knows sit and down. She is working on her recall. Sadie gets along well with other dogs and likes to have a dog buddy. She finds comfort in having a dog she knows come along on her socializing trips and walks. She does seem to have some separation anxiety. She'll get upset at first when her person leaves and does not prefer to stay outside alone; however, she is adjusting. (Sadie is happy to be outside with a dog buddy). Sadie is crate trained and does well in the house. She is mildly interested in thrown toys, but loses interest (this could change as she settles in more).

Sadie is ready for a family of her own. She needs to go to an experienced dog home, with someone that will know how to continue socializing her in safe situations. Sadie has put in a request that you have a water hose and a leash for walking at your house too... and perhaps a nice place to sit and snuggle. Sadie is an extremely nice dog who has some issues she is working out, and we are very happy with her progress. Sadie will require more socialization to continue to meet more and more people so she can continue to learn that new people are safe. Once she trusts you, you are her world.
