MYRA's Story...
MYRA is a beautiful 1-2 year old flat coated retriever female is FARRs latest arrival. She loves kids and insisted on sleeping in the kids room at her foster home. She is housetrained and very sweet. She will be spayed this week and completely up to date on shots. So far she has shown interest in possibly chasing the cats in the neighborhood. The foster does not own a cat to test the theory, so it may just be that she does not want the neighborhood cats in the yard. We will evaluate and let you know more. Her adoption fee is $150. If you are interested in adopting, please send an email to AdoptFromFARR@yahoo.com with the dog’s name listed in the subject line. Please include your name and return contact info. FARR – Florida Retriever Rescue is composed totally of volunteers working to save the lives of neglected and unwanted dogs. The adoption fee helps to cover the first 2 shots, Dewormer, and neuter/spay fees, as well as a rabies shot, if the dog is over 4months at time of adoption, and a heartworm test, if the dog is over 6months at time of adoption, as well as any transport or pull fees FARR may have paid to shelter for our rescues. All funds taken in are used strictly for the care and health of our rescues. You can also check out our other available rescue dogs and puppies currently fostered around the Tampa Bay area by visiting Adopt-A-Pet or FaceBook: FARR Florida All Retriever Rescue. Thank you for your interest in a rescue dog!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

MYRA, a Largo Flat-Coated Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Flat-Coated Retriever for sale in Largo, or seeking a Flat-Coated Retriever dog from a breeder in Largo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Largo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Largo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Flat-Coated Retriever breeders who help with Flat-Coated Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Largo paves the way for another one to be saved.
