My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I have very faint memories of having had a home and human companions when I was very young but the images are blurry and it’s hard to remember. Then I became just another stray. I am still not sure how. The images from the past that come back most often are of being outside and trying to fend for myself.

One day I happened upon a nice lady who seemed to understand I was down on my luck. Although timid, she knew I was far too friendly to be feral. She began feeding me and looked after me as best she could while trying to see if I would come out of my shell a bit more. When she realized I was pregnant she made some calls and, with the help of some really great cat lovers, helped me find my way to my foster Mom’s place. There I had my litter of five (yes 5!) kittens known as the coffee clutch gang. Those little rug rats kept me busy for a few months and now I am enjoying a bit of a break from all that work.

My foster mom’s place is really great (well except for those dogs— they make me quite nervous even though I know the other cats find them a lot of fun) but now that I am done with raising my family, I am looking for a new home of my own.

I may still seem a bit timid at first; especially at these rather odd things called adoption events. It’s all very new to me. But I have a nice temperament and am very friendly. I would love to a human or two to call my own. Please talk to my foster Mom to see if I would be a good match.

To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and either come to an adoption event or arrange to meet the cat in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
