About Our Rescue Group...
We are a registered charitable organization of (867121808RR0001) volunteers based in Saskatoon, SK. dedicated to rescuing unwanted, stray, abandoned, neglected and abused dogs. All of our rescued dogs are placed in foster care homes when we have a foster home available until a permanent home can be found. Here the dogs receive much needed attention, love, training, and exercise on a daily basis. Being in a home environment can eliminate stress, neurotic behaviors, and illness that may happen with living in a cage or kennel. Being in a home environment allows for an on-going assessment of the dog and what the dog is like to live with. Knowing the dogs personality and quirks helps to determine the best possible permanent home for each dog.It is our main goal to place each dog in a nurturing and loving environment in a permanent home suited to each dog.

All dogs that come into New Hope Dog Rescue are spayed or neutered and receive vaccinations and microchipping prior to being adopted.

We ALWAYS need foster homes who are willing to open their home to a dog in need. This can range from a puppy who needs a good start to a home with someone patient willing to work with the dog. We accept donations of cash (pays for medical expenses or doggie school to brush up on manners before adoption), crate, toys, food, leashes/collars and blankets or bedding. The number of dogs we save is completely limited by the number of people available to help.

Come Meet Our Pets...
To meet a dog you need to fill in an adoption application for the dog you wish to meet. You may list more than one dog on your application. We will ask the foster home to contact you and set up a time for you to meet the dog.
Our Adoption Process...
At New Hope Dog Rescue our dogs are our main concern. Rescued, homeless, abandoned, neglected and abused dogs have been through enough upheaval once, we don't want them to experience it again. To ensure this we go through what may seem a lengthy process. We want potential adopters to be fully aware of the responsibilities involved in loving and giving a home to one of our dogs. We also ensure that the dog is a match to the adopters lifestyle and expectations. If you are interested in adopting one of our rescue dogs you can expect to be involved in the following process:

1. Fill in the application. Applications are received and evaluated on a first come basis
2. Our adoption co-ordinator will get the foster home to tell you all about the dog and set up a time for you to meet. All family members must be present. For distance adoptions, a homevisit can be arranged prior to people meeting the dog.
3. If everyone decides that dog and people are a good match, a home visit is done prior to adoption.
4. Once approved, the family can take the dog for a trial up to 2 weeks before making a final decision about keeping the dog. (contracts and fee are done at this time).
5. If the family decides that the dog should become a permanent member of the household, then the adoption fee is applied.
6. New Hope is always available to help with any issues that arise once the dog has been adopted.

The adoption fee covers the basic costs the rescue has incurred (eg. spay/neuter, vaccination and microchipping costs). Adults and puppies are $185, Seniors are $90. We require a $100 neuter/spay deposit for unfixed puppies that is refunded when the spay or neuter is done.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
Saskatoon and area. We will adopt long distance as log as references and home visit are supportive. The adopter is responsible for cost of transport for the dog in addition to the adoption fee.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Link, a Saskatoon Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Saskatoon, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Saskatoon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Saskatoon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Saskatoon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Saskatoon paves the way for another one to be saved.
