Raja's Info...
| Breed: | Shepherd (Unknown Type) Mix | Color: | Tan/Yellow/Fawn - With Black | Age: | Senior |
| Size: | Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) | Sex: | Female |
Raja is a senior lady (about 12) who has been a victim of foreclosure. She has had a cancerous cyst removed from her back leg and is in need of a home to live out her remaining days.
Raja has lived with a younger female dog, whom she got along well with. We are unsure of her temperament toward cats. If you are interested in providing this girl with a home where she can live out her days with dignity, we would love to hear from you!
Rescue Group Info...
We are a brand new rescue-just formed in 2010. We work almost exclusively with the homeless in Fresno educating them on proper nutrition and care of their pets (mostly dogs). We provide food, shots, worm medicines and parasite control to them and arrange for free spaying/neutering. We accept some of these animals in to our rescue when their owners must relinquish them and they are placed in foster care until they are adopted into a forever home. We began working with this population when we discovered that first of all, it existed and second of all that the majority of the homeless population love their animals and want to take care of them properly. We are animal lovers first and foremost and want to be sure that they are cared for and loved by their human family.
We attend any and all events that we are invited to and are working on getting a spot at our local Pet Extreme so that we can work on adoptions of the dogs that are in our rescue. We will also be attending a Super Adoption that will be held at our university in May.
Our adoption fee is $150.
Adopters must complete an adoption application and be willing to submit to a home visit as needed. Once the application is approved, they must then complete the adoption contract which in part requires that if the dog must be surrendered that it is returned to Westside Rescue regardless of the amount of time that has passed. We require that all dogs be indoor/outdoor dogs and that they have access to sleeping inside at night. They cannot be left alone for extended periods of time nor tethered for any reason.
