Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you want a hound clown, look no farther than Pumpkin. This bundle of energy can barely contain her enthusiasm as she waits for her forever home. This is the dog to wear out a rowdy boy or two and then sleep on the sofa or in front of the fireplace til time to go again. She especially loves men and will rocket through the brush, creeks, and trails keeping up with the hardiest hikers or joggers. Squirrels digging up your flower beds? No problem, Pumpkin will make sure they stay up in the trees where they belong. Want melodic notice that a car is coming down your driveway? Pumpkin will bugle to let you know, then after an introduction, will not bother your guests. Her excellent nose might be an asset in tracking or rescue, but let's face it, unless you are a dedicated dog trainer looking for a challenge, don't bother trying to win obedience classes with Pumpkin. A hound is a hound is a hound. It would be cruel to shut her up in an apartment. But if you have a fenced yard with room to run and are looking for luxuriant ears to stroke, soulful eyes, a colorful coat, robust genetics, and a low-maintenance companion---Pumpkin will bring you love and laughter for years.
