Guthrie's Story...
Meet Guthrie! He is a handsome boy that found himself being passed around on Craigs List. The last family that had him decided he was not a good fit for them and asked us for help. Guthrie loves other dogs and is very respectful when meeting them. Guthrie is also good small children. He is a 1 year old pure bred golden that loves to retrieve. His family said he would pick up rocks and toss them at their feet so he would have something to "retrieve". Guthrie needs an active family that will allow Guthrie do what Guthrie does best - being a golden retriever. The family shaved him so he is missing his gorgeous golden locks at the moment. However, Guthrie is healthy and ready for his forever family. If interested in adopting Guthrie, visit our website www.adoptagoldenknoxville.org, Knoxville to New England page.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Guthrie, a Knoxville Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Knoxville, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Knoxville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxville paves the way for another one to be saved.
