Eliza's Story...

Name: Eliza
Shelter Resident Since: 7/7/12
Breed: Mixed
Sex: Female
Age When Entered Shelter: About 1 year
Color(s)Markings: Black
Weight: 4lbs

Biography: Eliza was found on a street in Queens, New York. She was adopted out by the Animal Care and Control of NYC, but quickly returned to them when the person did not have time to care for her. She came to us when ACCNYC had too many bunnies to keep. She is a quiet bunny at first, but when she gets to know you she melts into a black puddle for pets! She will need a calm and stable home where she can feel confident that she wont end up in the streets again. She is doing great with her litterbox!

If this little one appeals to you, hop over to our adoption application so this bun can start a new life at your home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Eliza, a Newport Other/Unknown was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Other/Unknown for sale in Newport, or seeking a Other/Unknown from a breeder in Newport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Other/Unknown breeders who help with Other/Unknown rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport paves the way for another one to be saved.
