Carly is a pretty black and white Persian girl with big golden eyes, that was rescued by us with six other Persians and Exotic Shorthairs from a high kill shelter.
She was very scared at the shelter and when we transported her Carly reached through the bars for our wonderful volunteer and rescuer Dawn's hand for comfort. So sweet.
If we wouldn't have arranged rescue that day, Carly would have been euthanized that morning, just because she was coming down with a upper Respiratory Infection. We are so happy we got the little sweetheart just in time!
Carly is a little shy in the beginning until she feels safe but once she feels comfortable she is very affectionate, rubs her face into my hands and reaches for me with her paws. She often talks to me sweetly and gives kisses on my nose. With time she will only get more confident and turn into a happy, secure and very loving cat.
We had to give Carly a cute lion cut since her coat was painfully matted and she feels much better now. She is very good with having her eyes cleaned and likes to be brushed.
Carly gets along fine with other cats, but enjoys people more.
She would do best in a more quiet home, without small children or dogs, where she can feel safe.
Will you give this sweet girl a loving forever home?
Rescue Group Info...
Helping Persian Cats rescues Persians, Himalayans, Exotic Short Hairs and other cats, and places them in responsible and loving homes with people who care! Our network of volunteers rescues primarily purebred cats, from local animal shelters in the southern California area, and from breeders who are no longer able to care for their cats, and from private owners in special circumstances. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Contributions to Helping Persian Cats are deductible under section 170 of the IRS Code. We rely entirely on donations from the public!
Our volunteers and foster homes work hard every day to help Persians and other cats who are in need. All of our foster cats live in cage-free foster homes where we can best assess their personalities and health prior to adoption.
We believe that the happiest and healthiest life for a cat is as a spayed or neutered pet. We ensure that all of our adoptable cats are spayed and neutered BEFORE placing them in new homes. We do not rely on "promises" to get the operation performed in the future.
In addition to spay/neuter, all of our adoptable cats have been seen at least once by a private veterinarian, are tested for feline leukemia and aids, are vaccinated for FVRCP, are dewormed and flea-free, and have received other medical care as needed.
We show our adoptable cats every other Saturday at Petco in Santa Monica from 11:30 to 3:30pm. The address is 2910 Wilshire Blvd. To find out the date of our next adoption event, please email us at helpingpersians@hotmail.com
If possible, we recommend that you submit your application prior to attending our adoption events.
The best way to contact us is by email.
If you find a cat that you are interested in adopting, please email for an application form at helpingpersians@hotmail. We will be happy to answer any questions.
We require all adopters to be approved for adoption, through completion of our application. We may sometimes require a home visit by one of our volunteers. We do not ship our cats - all adopters must meet the cat they wish to adopt.
An adoption fee is required.
We are located in the Los Angeles area, but serve southern California, the Inland Empire and the central coast areas.
