Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sassafras is a precious young pup that came into a LA city shelter with a crushed pelvis and broken tibia and fibula- it was assumed that she had been hit by a car. TMH received an urgent call from the shelter, Sassafras needed immediate rescue and extensive orthopedic surgery, or she would be put to death, as she was suffering and in pain. TMH jumped into action and within an hour, Sassafras was rescued and at the orthopedic specialist, who operated on her immediately. Sassafras is recovering from her surgery, her broken bones will soon be whole again and she will be running and playing like most young 3 month old puppies. Sassafras loves other dogs, adores children and gives the sweetest, gentle licks to anyone who will accept them. We believe that Sassafras is a boxer/lab mix, but we do not know with any certainty, it is just what she looks like to us. We do know that she is one amazing puppy that some family will be blessed to adopt. Sassafras is great in the home, crate trained, and 99% housebroken. Sassafras is a grateful, curious and gentle girl who takes nothing for granted and reminds us enjoy each and every moment.
Sassafras is:
approximately 4 months old
Female
Good with other dogs, and likely cats too
Adores children
Spayed and current on vaccines
UPDATE ON SASSAFRAS-
Sassafras is on the mend, her broken bones are healed, the pins have been removed and Sassafras is playing and having the time of her life. Sassafras may need a little physical therapy, like swimming in a pool, to help her atrophied legs, but sweet Sassy Girl is just so full of life and love, you would never know she had been injured.
