Dixie's Story...
Hey y'all, I'm Dixie. I'm a little Italian Greyhound mix. I'm about 14
months old. My human daddy had to give me up because he moved
someplace where he couldn't take me. I was sad at first :-( but now
I'm happy cause I get to play all day at this fun rescue place. I love
to run and play and I have lots of energy so if you're a couch potato
you might not want me! I really love those little humans, I think you
call them kids, and I even like cats too! I am spayed and have had all
my shots so I'm ready to come to your house. Are you ready for me??

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Salem Italian Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Italian Greyhound for sale in Salem, or seeking a Italian Greyhound dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Italian Greyhound breeders who help with Italian Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
